This module will help you answer these questions, by examining the different means of developing learning for individuals with disabilities and/or learning difficulties. What you learn will also help develop your critical awareness of 'special needs' discourses.
What does the module cover?
Gain critical awareness of current educational policy, practices and provision relating to 'special educational needs', and knowledge of different means of developing learning for individuals with disabilities and/or learning difficulties. Learn to evaluate the impact of government legislation on provision for special educational needs. With critical thinking you’ll evaluate competing arguments on the basis of evidence, and interpret and apply different theoretical models of inclusion.

You’ll need to complete a number of assessments as part of your coursework that can be forward to your academic tutor for grading and comments.
The summative assessment for this module is a coursework essay of 3,500-4000 words.
