Course Structure

One of the main benefits of an ICS course is flexibility. It is your choice how far you wish to take your studies – though we're sure once you see how rewarding learning with ICS can be, you'll be determined to achieve your full Honours degree!

In order to gain a Honours degree, you must successfully complete eighteen modules, including your final project. Each module is worth 20 credits and there are 120 credits at each level. However, if you decide to graduate early, you can choose from the following awards:

>An Ordinary degree with 300 credits
>A Diploma of Higher Education with 240 credits
>A Certificate of Higher Education with 120 credits

Some modules can also be studied individually as part of your own personal development – and there are a great range of topics to choose from.

Where could a degree in Psychology take you?

The breadth of what you'll learn studying for degree in Psychology means that this is a qualification that's highly relevant to a wide range of areas of work – taking in everything from social work to marketing,  education to human resource management.  Some students may choose to take BPS (British Psychological Society) qualifying exams in order to pursue studies with the profession – in educational, clinical, occupational or forensic psychology.

As well as covering subjects that are specific to psychology, studying for this degree gives you excellent training in other areas, such as data collection, analysis, IT skills, communication skills and report writing –  preparing you for working in areas unrelated to psychology.

Just contact your mentor via phone, e-mail, post and fax – and you know you'll get a fast response. Your mentor will also contact you at regular intervals. Firstly, to welcome you and agree a study plan and then to discuss your progress and remind you about deadlines.

You'll also have the individual attention of a specific subject tutor for each module you study, who you can contact through your mentor, or directly through the ICS Online Student Community – which is also an excellent way to contact other students or get studying tips and advice.
