Legal Degree: Family Law

Our legal degree distance learning course is made up of eighteen modules, including the Family Law module.

The distance learning law course allows you to study for your LLB degree through convenient and cost-effective home study. The legal degree course is structured in small, manageable modules, and to gain your LLB degree you will need to complete the necessary modules to gain 360 credits.

The Family Law module of the distance learning law degree covers the vitally important legal area of how the UK legal system relates with the family in situations such as death, divorce, marriage and adoption. This is the sector of law which perhaps has the greatest impact on the lives of ordinary people. As well as forming part of the distance learning LLB degree course, the Family Law module is can also be studied on a standalone basis as part of your personal development.

Family Law 

The aim of this module is to give you a thorough knowledge of a number of key areas of family law: these are explored in the context of socio-legal debates surrounding the family. Through this module you'll examine topics such as the law of divorce and its financial consequences, remedies for domestic violence and relationship breakdown and financial support for children.

Assessment

There are a number of assessments that you complete as part of your coursework and forward to your academic tutor for grading and comments.

You'll also take a summative assessment at the end of your module. Exam venues are located across the UK and exams take place twice a year. Please note that there are additional assessment fees for each module.
