Distance Learning Law Course: Evidence

Our distance learning law course makes studying law more accessible than ever as you learn in your own time through home study. The LLB degree course is made up of eighteen modules including the Evidence module.

The distance learning law course allows you to study for your Bachelor of Law degree through convenient and cost-effective home study. The distance learning LLB degree course is structured in small, manageable modules, and to gain your Bachelor of Law degree you will need to complete the necessary modules to gain 360 credits.

The Evidence module of the distance learning Bachelor of Law degree covers the rules of evidence in civil and criminal trials, and looks at every aspect of the use of evidence in the legal system. As well as forming part of the distance learning law degree course, the Evidence module can also be studied on a standalone basis as part of your personal development.

Evidence 

What are the rules governing evidence? This module will not only introduce you to the principal rules of evidence in civil and criminal trials, it will also equip you both to analyse and to comment critically on them. You'll study the nature and aims of evidence as well as its relevance and admissibility. You'll also examine the human aspect of evidence, covering the role of witnesses (including vulnerable and suspect witnesses) and the procedure for their examination.

>Privilege against self-incrimination and right to silence
>Confessions and evidence obtained by unfair/illegal means
>Hearsay
>Character burden and standard of proof

Assessment

There are a number of assessments that you complete as part of your coursework and forward to your academic tutor for grading and comments.

You'll also take a summative assessment at the end of your module. Exam venues are located across the UK and exams take place twice a year. Please note that there are additional assessment fees for each module.
