Human Rights
In recent years, the subject of human rights legislation has had a great deal of attention – especially the European Convention. This Module aims to provide a substantial introduction to the concept, undertaking a detailed examination of the provisions of the 1998 Human Rights Act, as well as examining case law of both the domestic courts and the European Court of Human Rights. Among other topics, you'll cover the rule of law and parliamentary sovereignty, the role of the State in the provision of human rights and the remedy of judicial review.

Assessment
There are a number of formative assessments that you complete as part of your studies and forward to your academic tutor for grading and comments.
You'll also take a summative assessment at the end of your module. Summative assessments include coursework, exams or a mix of both. Summative assessments take place twice a year and exam venues are located around the UK. Please note that there are additional summative assessment fees for each module.
