Police Studies

The challenge of fracturing communities and the alienation of some sections of society are just some of the challenges facing the modern police force. This module provides a coherent and comprehensive analysis of the police as a socio-political institution as well as a topic of legalistic analysis.  Emphasis will be placed upon twenty-first century policing, including policing in practice, the relationship between police and the media and police accountability.
