Constitutional and Administrative Law

This module lets you explore both the principles of constitutionalism and the role of the law in the regulation of Government.  This involves an investigation of the structures of Government, the rule of law, the impact of Europe, the role of judicial review and civil liberties.

What does the module cover?

Acquire the ability to handle with confidence the primary sources of constitutional and administrative law – treaties, statute, common law and conventions.  Understand the concepts, complexities and functions of constitutional and administrative law.  Assess the constitutional arrangements for the regulation of Government and consider constitutional reform.  Evaluate the role of judicial review in the restraint of government.  Participate in a group presentation of key constitutional issues.

Assessment

You’ll complete a 3 hour long unseen examination.  Exam venues are located across the UK and exams take place twice a year.  Please note that there are additional assessment fees for each module.
