Psychology of Mental Health
As well as introducing you to the main psychological problems of adulthood, this module invites you to consider the historical development and current conceptualisations of mental health distress – including the interaction of dispositional and environmental factors, as well as the socio-cultural context in which such problems evolve and develop.
What does the module cover?
Explore the origins of various mental health phenomena and possible causes. Develop critical thinking drawing upon research evidence base to evaluate the status and viability of current mental health concepts. Maintain a critical awareness of mental health classification systems used in real-world health settings.
