Education and Everyday Life - home study social care degree

Education and Everyday Life is an ICS home study module that makes up part of the honours social care degree.   

This home study module will explain to you the role that social carers play as educators. Whilst studying for a social care degree, you'll learn about the learning needs of different people and the connections to their social needs. You'll also learn about the role of learning in people and communities.

So, if you want to take a home study module and learn in your own time, Education and Everyday Life will allow you to develop the key knowledge required to go on to obtain a full social care degree.

Education and Everyday Life

Those working in social care can play a major role as educators in everyday life – but this module also examines the limits, as well as the potential of this role. Beginning by considering education in its widest sense, you’ll consider a range of learning needs, including formal education, mentoring and basic skills.  You’ll also be invited to explore learning needs in the context of how they’re connected to social needs.

>Limits and potentials of social care workers as educators in everyday life
>Exploring connections between learning needs and social need
>The role of learning in social care as personal and community growth
>How our beliefs, expectations and experiences of learning and education may affect how we view others with different beliefs and expectations 

Assessment

There are a number of formative assessments that you complete as part of your study and forward to your academic tutor for grading and comments.

You’ll also take a summative assessment at the end of your module that determines your final mark.
