What does the module cover?

You’ll examine the role of assessment in the provision of holistic care.  Learn to analyse and evaluate the use of assessment tools in current practice.  Gain an understanding of the theories of decision making and how to apply them in the provision of nursing care.  Appraise the function of action planning approaches in managing clinical practice, and evaluate how knowledge of assessment and decision making can influence professional practice.

You’ll be required to successfully complete two summative assessments for this module that count towards your final grade:

•    Essay (3000 words)                 80%
•    Reflective Statement (1000 words)        20%
