Principles & Values in Health
How well do you feel you could cope with the various ethical dilemmas that arise in health promotion? As well as introducing you to the theory relating to health promotion principles and values, and providing you with theoretical tools of ethical enquiry, this module will link these ideas to reflection about your own values – and their impact on health promotion work.
What does the module cover?
Learn to relate your own views of health promotion, the theoretical values that underpin it and common dilemmas of ethics and values. Learn to critical analyse health promotion issues such as HIV/AIDS, healthy eating, teen pregnancy, community development, smoking, obesity, and physical activity, and apply principles of health promotion and ethical theory to health promotion practice.
