Planning Change in Healthcare
Today’s healthcare systems are facing many changes and fresh challenges. This module will consider the role of strategic analysis, planning and marketing in preparing organisations for change – including political, social, economic and technological change. Among many stimulating topics, you’ll examine different management approaches, the strategic management process, and the need for customer focus in healthcare organisations.
What does the module cover?
Realise the importance of strategy analysis in preparing organisations for environmental change, and the need for healthcare organisations to embrace strategic marketing. Analyse the key resource strengths and competencies of organisations, appraise the impact of environmental change on organisations (such as political, social, economic, technological), and contrast operational and strategic management. You’ll have the opportunity to develop practical skills in planning a marketing strategy for a healthcare organisation, including a plan for implementation.

Assessment
In addition to completing a number of formative assessments as part of your coursework that you can forward to your tutor, you’ll also need to successfully complete two summative assessments, each counting towards 50% of your final grade:
