Social Care Practice 1


The world of social care is constantly changing – and the aim of this module is to give you an understanding of how social care provision is organised. It will give you an understanding of public sector management, inter-agency work, partnership building, and networking. You’ll gain an awareness of working as part of multidisciplinary teams – essential in modern professional practice.

What does the module cover?

Gain an understanding of the changing institutional approaches to delivering social care including the restructuring of the public and private sector, the role of the voluntary sector, and of social enterprise.  Develop an awareness of the challenges and implications of institutional and organisational change for professional working life.  You’ll also develop vital skills in the areas of information technology and your own reflective practice.
