A distance learning Social Care course from ICS is a convenient and cost-effective way to earn a valuable social work qualification. The Skills for Learning Social Care module is an important part of our social work course. In this unit, you will be taught the skills that will be used throughout your distance learning Social Care course. During this module, you will make a Personal Development Plan. This will show you the skills you need to develop as you work towards a social work qualification.

By taking a distance learning Social Care course with ICS, you can learn at your own pace. Although you will be learning from home, you will not be alone. Skills for Learning Social Care

This module is about how to learn more effectively. You’ll cover a range of different skill areas, including information technology, academic reading and writing, finding and using sources and study skills. It will allow you to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) that will help you reflect on your existing skills and identify gaps where you need to develop.

>Stress management and work-life balance
>Continuing professional development
>Skills development – essay writing, effective reading and note taking, critical thinking and analysis, taking part in research, accessing sources of information, using computers and online resources

Assessment

There are a number of formative assessments that you complete as part of your study and forward to your academic tutor for grading and comments.

You’ll also take a summative assessment at the end of your module that determines your final mark.

Exam venues are located across the UK and exams take place in April and November.
