The Business Environment module is part of the home study BA (Hons) Business Management (Finance) course.

The home study BA (Hons) Business Management (Finance) course allows you to study for a business degree through convenient and cost-effective distance learning. The course is structured in small, manageable modules, to gain an honours degree you need to complete 18 modules.

The Business Environment module introduces you to business organisations, business environments and how economic change affects businesses. As well as forming part of the home study BA (Hons) Business Management (Finance) course, the Business Environment module is also available to study on a standalone basis as part of your personal development.

Business Environment

This module is designed to introduce you to business organisations, business environments and how economic change affects businesses. You'll cover everything from public and private sectors to profit and non-profit organisations. You'll also learn just how important changes in the national and global economic systems are to a business.

Key Topics

In this module you will cover a range of topics including:

>Types of public and private sector organisations, profit and not for profit organisations
>Legal and organisational structures of organisations
>Organisational cultures and behaviour, organisational culture and organisational structure, culture external to the organisation
>The political, economic, socio-cultural, technological, legal and ecological dimensions to an organisation's external environment
>Analysis of why changes in market prices important to the business occur

Assessment

There are a number of assessments that you complete as part of your coursework and forward to your academic tutor for grading and comments.

You'll also take a summative assessment at the end of your module. Exam venues are located across the UK and exams take place twice a year. Please note that there are additional assessment fees for each module.
