Managing Diversity
Would you like to learn how to manage diversity in the workplace? In this module you’ll explore individual and societal identities, the labour market and its inequalities, and equal opportunities. From the legal case for equality, employee flexibility to changing work arrangements and HR management practices, you’ll become expert in equal opportunities in the workplace.
What does the module cover?
Gain an understanding the nature of debates concerning equal opportunities and diversity. Develop effective communication skills for discourse on the importance of diversity management at the individual, human resources management and organisational level. Gain knowledge and skills to assist organisations in the development of appropriate diversity and equal opportunities strategies, in addition to solutions to overcome resistance and barriers to the effective management of diversity

Assessment
In addition to a number of formative assessments that you’ll have to complete as part of your coursework and forward to your tutor, you’ll also have to successfully complete two summative assessments for this module. These will take the form of an Individual Assignment based on a case study (2,500 words), plus a Group presentation – designing and implementing an effective diversity strategy – each counting towards 50% of your final grade.
