NCFE Protection of Vunerable Adults - 1 day course

This course is aimed at individuals working in a social or health care capacity. The training has been designed to provide practical information and advice enabling employees working to carry out their jobs responsibly and safely, and to help them understand their role in the safeguarding of vulnerable adults.

This is a one day group course only, you can not buy or study it on your own.  To discuss a group booking, please call.


Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites for this course, although it is recommended that you either currently work in this discipline, or are interested in doing so.

Assessment

Each learner's progress throughout the day will be assessed by the Tutor, and at the end of the session, each learner will complete a multiple choice questionnaire which will be marked by the Tutor also.

What will I get?

You will be provided with an expert Tutor who will deliver the session face-to-face, provide course materials for each learner to keep, and provide individuals assessment throughout the day. On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a NCFE IIQ Certificate.

On completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify reasons that may lead a person becoming vulnerable
  • Identify why dementia can cause vulnerability
  • Identify the nature and possible causes of abuse
  • Identify the key legislation and organisational policy in relation to abuse and neglect
  • Describe your organisation's policies and procedures in relation to abuse and neglect
  • Identify the signs and symptoms associated with abuse and neglect
  • Identify how to respond to abuse or neglect
  • Demonstrate an understanding of what whistle blowing is and how to raise concerns
  • Ensure your actions and those of others minimises the risk of harm or abuse to those you provide care for
  • Identify how to relate and support individuals in the way they choose
  • Explain how to treat people with respect and dignity
  • Identify the practical help that can be offered through Person Centred Care
  • Identify how to responds to an individual's disclosure of abuse
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of empowering service users.
