NCFE Nutrition Awareness - 1 day course

This course is ideal for employees who are responsible for providing nutrition advice to clients or patients. It is also useful for those working in the catering industry requiring enhanced knowledge about nutrtion. In all areas of health and social care, along with the catering industry, the need for good nutrition is stronger than ever, from both a health and legislative perspective.

This is a one day group course only, you can not buy or study it on your own.  To discuss a group booking, please call.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites for this course, although it is recommended that you either currently work in this discipline, or are interested in doing so.

Assessment

Each learner's progress throughout the day will be assessed by the Tutor, and at the end of the session, each learner will complete a multiple choice questionnaire which will be marked by the Tutor also.

What will I get?

You will be provided with an expert Tutor who will deliver the session face-to-face, provide course materials for each learner to keep, and provide individuals assessment throughout the day. On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a NCFE IIQ Certificate.

On completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of nutrition terminology
  • Identify a nutritionally balanced diet
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between diet and health
  • Demonstrate an understanding that different groups of people require different diets to suit their lifestyle
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the guidance and reccommendations that exist for feeding people in hospitals, residential homes, nurseries, schools and prisons
  • Understand that food processing and manufacture can change the nutritional content of foods
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of accurate nutritional information being available on food products.
