NCFE Equality and Diversity - 1 day course

This course is ideal for managers at any level, or anyone about to move into management. It is ideal for those who require underpinning knowledge around treating people fairly and equally in the workplace; and recognising and managing difference and variance among individual employees. Learners can use this knowledge to support them in their role, or to underpin a formal qualification in this area.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites for this course, although it is recommended that you either currently work in this discipline, or are interested in doing so.

Assessment

Each learner's progress throughout the day will be assessed by the Tutor, and at the end of the session, each learner will complete a multiple choice questionnaire which will be marked by the Tutor also.

What will I get?

You will be provided with an expert Tutor who will deliver the session face-to-face, provide course materials for each learner to keep, and provide individuals assessment throughout the day. On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a NCFE IIQ Certificate.

On completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the meaning of equal opportunities and diversity in the workplace
  • Describe the legal aspects of equality and diversity; the main equality legislation and key aspects of equality management
  • Identify language that is potentially discriminatory
  • Recognise and manage inappropriate behaviour
  • Recognise the differences between attitudes, beliefs and value and behaviours
  • Identify the impact of discrimination and prejudice
  • Describe the joint roles and responsibilities in equal opportunities
  • Explain how to promote equality and diversity in the workplace
  • Identify mechanisms by which current individual and organisational practice can be developed and improved.
