NCFE Effective Supervisor - 1 day course

This course aims to introduce employees to the fundamental skills and knowledge they'll need to become supervisors. It is ideal for employees who have no experience of  supervisory responsibilities. It will equip learners with the knowledge and skills they will require to enable people to perform effectively together.

Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisites for this course, although it is recommended that you either currently work in this discipline, or are interested in doing so.

Assessment

Each learner's progress throughout the day will be assessed by the Tutor, and at the end of the session, each learner will complete a multiple choice questionnaire which will be marked by the Tutor also.

What will I get?

You will be provided with an expert Tutor who will deliver the session face-to-face, provide course materials for each learner to keep, and provide individuals assessment throughout the day. On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a NCFE IIQ Certificate.

On completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe the role of a supervisor
  • Set objectives and standards of performance for members of staff
  • Distinguish advantages and disadvantages of different communication methods in facilitating team performance
  • Identify the key requirements in enabling staff to perform
  • Identify the most effective use of employee time
  • Deliver a short proposal in a logical and convincing way
  • Recognise the different ways in which individuals are motivated
  • Distinguish the four different leadership styles and when they are best used
  • Pose questions that enable individuals to learn from their own experience
  • Recognise the assertive response when dealing with a range of different situations
  • Carry out an informal performance review with a member of staff.

Due to this being a group course, an invoice will be raised for the business whose employees will be taking part in the training.
