IGCSE Religious Studies

IGCSE Religious Studies

In a multi-faith society religious studies are of increasing importance if we are to understand the people and the world around us. In the IGCSE Religious Studies course you will develop a knowledge and understanding of one or more of the six major world religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism. Religious studies is an interdisciplinary field with direct relevance to arts, humanities, sciences and social sciences.

The IGCSE Religious Studies will help you learn about the beliefs, values and traditions of the six main religions and understand key religious ideas which are not specific to any one religion. You will also learn about non-religious beliefs and values.

Open to students of any or no religious belief, the IGCSE Religious Studies course will help you to understand the influence of religious beliefs, values and traditions as well as non-religious beliefs.

Learning about religion and religious belief will enable you to identify, investigate and respond to fundamental questions of life raised by religion and human experience, including questions about the meaning and purpose of life.
