ICS Psychology

The psychology of the human mind has an irresistible fascination, and our Psychology course can give you a compelling and useful insight into your own inner motivations and those of the people around you. The study of psychology can be the first step in making changes that will enrich your life and even bring greater work success and more fulfilling relationships.

Our Psychology course will allow you to explore the workings of your own mind as you learn about the history of psychology and its various schools of thought on psychology theory.

Starting from childhood, you will discover the ways in which the personality is shaped through the different stages of life. You'll learn about the motivations that lead to different behaviours, and about the important role that sleep and dreams play in maintaining mental health.

Our online Psychology course will do more than focus on the personal nature of psychology. You will also examine its role in today's society and look at its different applications, from counselling and clinical psychology to environmental and forensic psychology.

When you complete the Psychology course you will have a comprehensive understanding of psychology theory and practice which you can apply to the benefit of any aspect in your life.

Entry Requirements

You don't need any previous experience or qualifications to enrol in our Psychology course. That's because we believe in making home study - and a rewarding future - as accessible as possible.

Where will I go from here?

The skills and self-awareness you gain from the Psychology course will enable you to enrich your working and private lives, giving you the confidence to modify your behaviour when necessary. In addition, the course can provide a springboard to further studies in psychology.

What will I gain?

On completion, you'll receive the ICS Diploma in Psychology.

Assessment

Assessments are a great way of checking your progress. Throughout the Psychology course, you'll complete six assessments, one at the end of each unit. These contain a combination of short essay questions and scenario-based questions.

Scenario-based questions test that you can apply the knowledge you have learnt from the course to imaginary scenarios and will normally require you to write a few paragraphs. For example, you might be asked to explain why two young children who have just watched a violent movie decide to fight each other.

Generally, assessments can be sent to us online via the ICS Student Community: it's the fastest way to receive your results.

What will I get?

Because we're experts in home learning, ICS knows about and offers all the support you need along the way.

You'll receive study materials that have been specially designed for distance learning by experts in your chosen field.

As a Psychology student, you'll receive the complimentary textbook - Psychology & You, by Kathy Daniels and Jean Roberts.

You'll have access to an experienced personal tutor both online and over the phone, ready to help you with guidance and motivation.
