ICS Introduction to Exercise and Fitness

ICS Introduction to Exercise and Fitness

Our Introduction to Exercise and Fitness is a distance learning course that can put you on the first step of a career in the health and fitness industry. Fitness training isn't a passing fad: the fitness industry is going from strength to strength as more and more people realise the importance of fitness and leading a healthier and more active lifestyle. The Introduction to Exercise and Fitness course will give you the knowledge to gain employment in the fitness industry and help shape people's lives to increase their health and fitness.

Our Introduction to Exercise and Fitness course can be your first step on the way to a career as a gym instructor or personal trainer, helping to make a real difference to the health and fitness of clients.

The Introduction to Exercise and Fitness course has content written and endorsed by YMCAfit, one of the UK's leading trainers of fitness professionals, and opens the door to further training through this industry-recognised body.

You will study the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology, and learn how the body's cardiovascular and energy systems work. And, because exercise is all about motivation, you'll look at ways in which you can help clients overcome barriers to physical activity. You will learn to plan and teach fitness programmes that are inspirational as well as energetic.

Health & Safety is a major issue in exercise environments, and you'll study the issues that can arise in a gym and learn to administer effective First Aid.

The Introduction to Exercise and Fitness course will prepare you to sit the YMCAfit Level 2 Certificate in Exercise & Fitness Knowledge, and you'll be ready to undertake additional practical instructor training with YMCAfit, opening the door to exciting career and business opportunities.
