The BTEC Construction and Surveying course is a
nationally-recognised advanced Level 3 award which guides you
through the principles and techniques of both fields, equipping you
for a range of jobs in the construction industry.
You will study construction design and planning, and the variety
of building methods used in the construction industry. You'll also
look at the inclusion of utilities in buildings.
The distance learning Construction and Surveying course will
also take you into the specialist subject of surveying, and you
will develop skills in the mathematics needed for measuring and
materials estimation. Building and condition surveys will be
studied, as will the use of surveying equipment, and you'll learn
to price projects accurately and gain an understanding of the
tendering process.
The course will also cover health and safety.
To enrol in the BTEC Construction and Surveying course, you must
be over 16 and educated to at least GCSE standard D-G or hold an
NVQ at level 1, or a GNVQ Foundation Certificate. Please note that
parts of this course are mathematical in nature.
Once you've completed the BTEC Construction and Surveying
course, you'll hold an industry-recognised qualification that
proves you have a broad understanding of the principles and skills
required and can take you into a trainee surveying role, or a
related role in the construction industry. Alternatively, you can
progress to further study and enter the industry at a higher
level.
On completion, you'll receive the BTEC Level 3 Advanced Diploma
in Construction and Surveying
